LINDSAY
ROBERTSON
· his
background ·
Edinburgh born Lindsay Robertson has been a professional photographer
since 1971. Having perfected his skills in commercial photography
he adapted his art to concentrate on capturing the landscape
which has always been his inspiration.
In recognition
of his work whilst resident at the prestigious Hermitage Artists
Retreat in Florida during 2005, Lindsay was given the opportunity
to bring the Eastman House archive of Ansel Adams photographs
to Scotland. To spearhead his own current photographic project
of photographing in the footsteps of the Scots born environmentalist
and father of the American National Park movement, John Muir.
· his
work ·
Lindsay has always had a passion to photograph the ever changing
Scottish landscape. He believes that by creating monochromatic
images of mountain, sea and sky, our emotional response and appreciation
of the world around us can become all the more intense and meaningful.
As a photographer
who journeys in the pursuit of inspirational locations, he is
often reminded of Chief Seattle's wise words when he said,
" take only memories, leave nothing but footprints..."
He uses traditional
skills, hand made silver rich prints combined with modern laser
technology to create stunning landscapes and is the first
British Photographer to be awarded the privilege of exhibiting
with Ansel Adams.
